Fez full day tour

Fez sightseeing tour will take you back in time to explore the secrets of this enchanting city, the capital of medieval Morocco. Fez medina is a large labyrinth of winding alleys. It’s famous for its fascinating architecture in riads, palaces, museums and medersas; but also for its busy souks and crafts areas.

Traditionally, the exploration of the medina starts at the Bab Boujloud Gate, also known as the Blue Gate. Nearby, there is Batha Museum (closed on Tuesdays and national holidays), then the mid 14th century Bou Inania medersa, with its cedar woodwork, its sculptured stucco, marble and beautiful calligraphy.

Continuing along Talaa seghira Street, you will particularly admire the carpenters’ souk, wood museum and the beautiful famous Nejjarine fountain. You will then stop at the three aspects of Fez which are Tijani zaouïa, (sanctuary of a religious Sufi brotherhood leader), the ancient sovereign Moulay Idriss shrine and the Karawiyine Mosque (the oldest university in the history of mankind) and which all constitute the Golden Triangle that shaped the spiritual identity of Fez. You will move on further to Seffarine (the brass working area) then the dyers of materials for textile, the tanneries before having- if you wish a walk through the Andalusian quarter mostly residential.

P.S. In addition to this, you may rent a car and have an exterior tour of Fez medina that takes you to the royal palace decorated entrance and the Jewish quarter both located at Fez El Jadid, then the panoramic view of the medina and finally a visit to the mosaics and pottery area.
