On this day excursion from Fez, enjoy the beauty and cool air of the Middle Atlas region, situated at a height of 1350 metres in the Atlas Mountain range.
Explore Ifrane or “little Switzerland” as you pass through the flower-lined paths and French-style architecture of this quaint little town. Leaving Ifrane to Azou, and on the way, is the best preserved cedar forest of Morocco, where you can catch sight of Barbary apes leaping from the high branches.
A little further, explore Azrou, a Berber village built at an altitude of 1250 metres and home of the Berber tribes, Morocco’s earliest inhabitants. Watch Berber men tending their herds or plying their crafts, specially wood work.
